Bromsgrove Blaze Basketball Club.

A brief history:

 Founded -  1963 and called Bromsgrove Basketeers.

On changing their home court to B.Y.C. they became known as Bromsgrove Youth Centre.

During this period they participated very competitively in the West Midlands League.

During the 1980s they moved again making their home court Bromsgrove School.

They then became known as Bromsgrove and played chiefly in the Worcestershire Basketball

League.

They were very succesfull during this period running two mens teams and a ladies team,

Bromsgrove Ravens.

With an influx of quality players, Bromsgrove once again joined the West Midlands League,

where they still participate in Division One.

Junior development has always been a high priority at the club, with weekly coaching sessions

linking the club to Meadows First School.

During the last few years a firm link has been established with Worcester College of Technology

where the club coach.B.Miller, also coaches at WCT. Several talented young players

have joined Bromsgrove following their success at college.

Active Sport has had a huge impact on the number of young people joining the club recently

and inspired the name change to Bromsgrove Blaze.
